NINA KIM
Born and raised in LA, my interest in graphic design sparked during my junior year in high school. Now, I am a generalist, always seeking to learn new things and widen my spectrum. With my adaptability, I don't tie myself down to one thing for too long and my curiosity leads me to new experiences and new lessons. I look forward to learning and collaborating with a variety of designers!

Pandora Music: Rebranding
Branding and Identity, Web Design, Print Design
Pandora Music has historically catered to an older demographic, with branding that felt linear and lacked the vibrancy of a modern streaming platform. Noticing their efforts on social media to engage younger audiences, I identified an opportunity to refresh the brand to better resonate with this target group. My goal was to develop a dynamic and youthful visual identity, transforming Pandora into a fun and engaging platform for a new generation of listeners.
The logomark draws inspiration from soundwaves and volume, incorporating a "P" to create a distinct connection to Pandora. It also references a hamburger menu, symbolizing the diverse streaming options available to listeners. For the typeface, I selected Jam Grotesque, a sans-serif font ideal for a music streaming platform that looks great both online and in print.
To maintain consistency, I incorporated rectangular shapes throughout my design system, including the website. I created a custom display typeface using the rectangular elements from my logo and applied it to print materials. This container background bar concept also served as a visual element in my posters and stickers, enhancing the overall branding experience.
